NHLC represents Michael Kumukauoha Lee to
help protect limu grounds he uses in ‘Ewa Beach from
Haseko’s proposed polluted runoff drainage outlet. Haseko
has requested a conservation district use permit to allow
its polluted runoff to be discharged on state land through
limu beds off of ‘Ewa Beach. Michael Kumukauoha Lee has
worked with the ‘Ewa Beach Limu Project to plant and harvest
limu along this ‘Ewa shoreline. Mr. Lee has collected limu
in this area for food and for medicinal purposes.
